Quick Thinking Five Year Old

Me: Matthew, take this baseball bat out of the kitchen and put it away.

Matt: But it’s not my bat. My baseball bat is blue. That one is red; it’s Brandon’s.

Brandon: No, my bat is blue and it’s in my room. The red one is Matt’s.

Me: I don’t care whose bat it is; just go put it away. If you don’t want to put each other’s toys away, put your names on them.

Matt: Okay. (Grabbing a marker) How do you spell ‘Brandon?’
