If Santa Doesn’t Hurry Up, Matthew May Spontaneously Combust

The boys opened one present tonight in anticipation of tomorrow’s present extravaganza and gluttony contest. This is Matt, pre-present opening. I made him put on clothes before he could open a present. It’s been super cold here (it was 3 degrees when I left for work Monday morning), but Matthew has lived in nothing but cartoon-themed underwear for the past few days. I don’t know how he does it – it makes  me cold just to look at him running around the house in nothing but his briefs.

In preparation for tomorrow’s Christmas dinner, I made the traditional spritz cookies with my Pampered Chef cookie press. This is, unfortunately, the last year the cookie press will be functional. See, last year Matthew thought the cookie press made an excellent firearm and ran through the house using it as a weapon. In doing so, he somehow cracked the plastic barrel of the cookie press. We’ve tried gluing it and I thought it was going to work until the second round of cookies today when the dough started oozing through the crack on the side of the barrel.  Brandon whipped out the masking tape and taped the barrel up – we made it through this year’s batch of Christmas cookies, but I will be shopping around for a new cookie press before next year rolls around. Maybe a metal one would be more prudent in this household.

I’ll post more pictures tomorrow. Hope you all have a merry Christmas!

  1. Merry Christmas! I hope the boys are having a good time! Grant shares his cousin’s minimalistic outlook on fashion.
